Replacement UPVC Door Handles
If you're replacing the handles or adding a little extra security you can find the right handle for your door. These upvc handles are easy to install and conform to the required 92mm centres of multipoint locks.
The most important measurements to be considered are the backplate fixing centers and key hole dimensions and levers. Compare these measurements to your existing marks carefully before making a purchase.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad door handles consist of a lever handle on one side and a paddle shaped handle on the other. These are designed for use with key wind locks. However they can also be attached to multipoint split spindle door locks.
Our selection of upvc handle lever pads are available in a range of finishes. They will be displayed in the drop-down list after you have identified the correct handle for your door. Some styles of handles are not available in all finishes. You should always examine the technical drawing and size sections for the specific item that you want to ensure that you get the right size and fit.
It is essential that when selecting a new set of Upvc lever pad handles, they are in line with the PZ (distance from the spindle of the handle to the center of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because the handles must be lined up for the doors to stay locked, no matter if you're looking at them from the outside or inside. The handles we sell are designed to work with the majority of standard cylinder locks, however you should always double-check before making a purchase.
You'll need to take off your existing handles and dismantle the lock case if upgrading to dual spindle levers for your handle as this will require a split inline cylinder. These can be bought separately, and we provide an entire technical diagram for you to examine in the images for each product.
Once you have removed the screws that are holding the door handle you have, it is recommended to loosen them, and then inspect the mechanism to determine how it's performing. If the screws aren't loose enough it is possible to loosen them even more. Then, you can remove the spindle from the door handle and replace it with your new Upvc handle. Before you screw the handle into position, it is a good idea to ensure that it is in the proper position. You can do this by placing your finger into the gap between the door frame and the door handle to make sure it is in a level position.
Lever/Lever
Lever door handles operate an a multi-point lock using an Euro Cylinder and are found on the majority of double doors made of upvc, aluminum doors and a few wooden doors. They are equipped with a lever on the inside and a paddle on the outside and are typically available in two different types. Sprung - These include a spring cassette inside the backplate to help bring the handle lever to an upright position. Non-sprung: These do NOT have a mechanism to spring the handle lever to a horizontal position.
To fix a door handle that is sagging it is necessary to locate the detent access hole or pin, which is usually a small rectangle or round with a protruding hole situated on one side of the handle base plate. Once you have located the detent access hole or pin, you are able to remove it with an screwdriver.

When the handle is in a horizontal position you can put the screws back in place and tighten them until the handle stays fixed to the base plate. It is also advisable to apply a threadlocking adhesive to the screw threads to increase the grip and prevent them from loosing over time.
Drooping lever handles on door handles could be the result of a number of factors. The most common reason is that the fixings have been over tightened and are putting strain on the lever bearing and causing it to pull against the door face. It could also be due to the fact that the levers are not being operated at a straight angle and this is compressing the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into operation.
Another common reason is that the lever that is sprung is not working properly. This is usually due to the sprung not being in the correct position within the backplate. The simplest way to check this is to move the handle to check if it returns to the horizontal position.
It is important to repair any loose door handles immediately. This can cause excessive wear on the screws and the handle might fall off the base plate. It is also recommended to tighten any loose screws regularly to prevent them from becoming looser.
Lever/Snib
These upvc handles are also called "Snib handle sets" and have a snib lock button at the top of the door lever. If you do not have a dummy locking device you can use this feature to secure the door. They usually come with a Fullex 68PZ (that's 68mm between the spindle's center and lever or lock centre) door lock. We also have a range of other 68PZ door handles from various manufacturers, including Ferco and Fab & Fix.

Mortise
If your front door's uPVC handle is stuck in the open position, the problem is most likely to be related to the tubular latch. This could be due to a number of things, but the most common is a lack of lubrication in the latch plate. It is possible to fix this problem by opening the door, spraying lubricant on the handle and lock. It could also be that the latch has slipped away from the backplate. This can be a bit more of a problem and would require a professional to fix it.
